Thankful Is an Understatement

Happy Thanksgiving to all!! It has been a busy past few weeks. I feel like that should be my new tag line, since I feel like I’m only getting around to writing one of these once every few weeks! I always say I am going to write but by the time I think I have time to do so, “something” always comes up. Well not tonight people. I am here and ready to fill Ya’ll in on just how Thankful I am this Holiday Season!

This year my husband and I got back together. We moved into a beautiful home. We took all our kids on vacation for the first time this summer. For the first time ever with all of them. There have been a ton of firsts for our family this year and I am so thankful for all of them.

For Thanksgiving there were a lot of differences than in previous years. This year my Family was together for the first time ever. Now when I say “family” I mean just me and the Hubs and all of our Kiddos. Our girls (my stepdaughters) and our boy, oh and of course Queenie! I think it’s just what we all needed this year. Being that it is the first year, after years of separation and “other obstacles”, together, as a Family again. It was just so nice to have all my kiddos in our home laughing, eating and having a great time. It was perfect!

I also did all the cooking! That is a first as well! Spent the whole day in the kitchen. Now my kitchen is probably the smallest kitchen I have ever had in all my years of renting apartments, but it has to be my most favorite kitchen and I’ll tell you why. It is so small that there really only is room for one person at a time. That person would be me. Needless to say, it was very relaxing for me. I had my Christmas music playing. Oh, and I totally forgot to fill you all in. I totally caved and boke the “infamous unwritten rule” in our house. I decorated for Christmas the night BEFORE Thanksgiving ha. the “rule” is not until December 1st, he knew that wasn’t going to happen. To my own defense I had had an awful day and needed some cheering up. There was no telling me “No”, and I think the Hubby knew that lol. So, Christmas music playing, twinkly warm white lights all around. It was pure heaven for me! I was in my element for sure. Also forgot to mention my turkey was completely frozen Wednesday night, and on the table by 7pm Thanksgiving Day. Need I Say More…

Nope, but I’m totally going to ha-ha Wouldn’t be Kasey’s rambles if I didn’t.

So now as I sit in my cozy Christmassy living room, I can’t help but be Thankful and truly reflect on what this year has brought my family and me. The best part for me, is not the nice apartment or the financial stability or the nice things that we have, its truly being Happy with where I am in Life. Today I am happy with my “day to day”. I may bitch and complain on the regular about just that, my day to day, but when it comes down to it, I wouldn’t want it any other way. Thats a pretty great feeling to have!

Welp, now that my son has invited his two buddies inside, I am going to cut the rambles short today. As always feels good to be back. Hopefully I can be more consistent! I’m a work in progress people bare with me haha

Till next time…
